intimate weddings, adventurous elopements, & portrait photography

This is not about chasing perfection. it's about the raw and honest moments, and capturing the way they feel.

Hello, I’m Grace.

Having children of my own has made me achingly aware of how time robs us and the importance of images that are not only artful, but utterly honest.

Whenever I travel, my daughter carries a photograph of her and I wherever she goes. It doesn’t matter to her whether we look proper and put together. What matters is the goofy smiles and tousled hair, the realness and in-the-moment joy that feels like us. That’s what I want to bring to your wedding day. The noticing and embracing of perfectly imperfect moments that feel like you.

Who I am

Between everything from photography, painting, illustration, botany, and art history, to the desire (but as of yet, none of the knowledge) to keep bees, bake sourdough, and also learn stone masonry — I’m sort of a serial hobbyist. So many aspects of art bring me joy, but photography is the one thing that has truly stuck since the day I picked up a camera in highschool. Maybe it’s the tendency to hoard sentimental things, or the same sickening nostalgia that won’t allow me to toss that jar of pebbles and sea glass on my windowsill, but photographs mean the world to me. The few I have of my grandparents together, my own parents’ wedding album, my husband and I, the birth of our children — moments that may have lost their detail in my mind and stories I would not have known, if it weren’t for the visual evidence. Something about that has always enthralled me.

My husband, Austin, and I were married young over 12 years ago, are parents to two (6 & 8 year olds), followers of Jesus, and are most recently the proud owners of a renovation project home in the mountains + perfectly weird flock of chickens. While we call Alaska home, we frequently travel and love exploring both new and familiar places.
