Intimate Wedding in Juneau | Alaska Elopement Photographer | Betsy & Andrew

Andrew and Betsy's wedding day plans unfolded in a very relaxed and natural way. Over coffee, they told me they were dreaming of an intimate ceremony somewhere in Alaska, some time in the fall. When they decided on Juneau, I knew they would not be disappointed. It is easy to fall in love with a place like that. It has the perfect mix of rugged mountains, towering pines, ocean, and dramatic weather. The moody cool toned color palette is perfection. It's like Anchorage and Seattle's love child, and I just can't get enough. (I am also fairly certain that most who touch down there for a visit would say the same!)

The day before the wedding, Betsy and her sister came across the most idyllic place while out for a run. Andrew agreed, site unseen, and Mendenhall Glacier became the perfect backdrop for their intimate family gathering. The entire day centered around their faith and families, deep thankfulness and meaningful details, without an ounce of drama or unnecessary frills. Betsy styled her own hair and wore earrings that were her grandmother's. Her sister and mother created her bouquet. The couple even surprised their families with a campfire and s'mores bar on the beach in the evening.

Beginning to end, the day was a unique blend of tradition and their own personal tastes. It was absolutely beautiful.
